A villager from Majeje, Namakgale in Limpopo has been arrested for allegedly raping his daughter in the their family house.
He is expected to appear in court in Lulekani this morning (20 June 2022) for the rape charge.
The man and his wife and their two minor children were sleeping in the same room.
The mother awoke around midnight to find out her husband wasn’t in bed.
She was shocked to find out that her husband raped their 07-year-old daughter and immediately confronted him.
The suspect reportedly retaliated by attacking her.
The incident was reported to the police on June 16th and a rape case was opened.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the rape ordeal started in February this year, but it was never reported.
The case was transferred to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS) Unit.
The suspect was apprehended shortly after the incident was opened by members of the Patrol Community Service Center on patrol.
