A 35- year- old African male has been shot dead.
According to police the deceased was found lying dead on the street opposite Chiks Pub at no 123-15th Avenue in Alexandra.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, 9th March, about 01:15 ( in the early hours of the morning).
The motive for murder has not been established yet
Alex police spokesperson Sergent Simphiwe Mbatha said the deceased had a gun shot wound on his chest next to his left hand.
“Paramedics were summoned to the scene and declared him dead on the scene.
“Police collected one empty cartridge which was next to the deceased,” said Mbatha.
Mbatha said the deceased’s brother was found at the scene and he identified the deceased.
Alex police have opened murder docket and investigation continues while the suspect is still at large.
“Alex SAPS is appealing to the community to assist the police in arresting the suspect.
