A 77- year old man had allegedly repeatedly raped a 11- year-old girl since December 2022.
It is alleged that the victim’s parents used to lend money from the alleged perpetrator and when they failed to pay, the perpetrator would then repay himself by repeatedly molesting the victim.
United Africans Transformation (UAT) says it is relieved that following “our intervention, an alleged child molestation case has been registered with Eersterus SAPS”.
“It is alleged that the perpetrator took advantage of the needy situation in the victim’s home,” said Abel Tau, UAT president.
Tau said UAT was contacted by a concerned relative after trying to get assistance from relevant authorities with no luck.
“The concerned relative started noticing that something was not right in December 2022 and started reporting the issue since then with no joy from relevant authorities .
“This is why they reached out to the UAT.
We are relieved that following our intervention, the case has finally been registered with the SAPS Eersterus on Wednesday 03 May 2023 (CAS 18/05/2023).
” We will follow this case with keen interest to its conclusion,” said Tau.
