Are you a movie lover and wondering where you would go this Saturday? We’ve got some fantastic news for you!
The famous Dark Beauty, currently in cinemas, will be shown in the Alexandra community for free.
Dark Beauty has collaborated with Gauteng Film Commision on community development.
After the successful launch of Dark Beauty in Cinemas this year, Gauteng Film Commision has come on board as a sponsor.
The sponsorship supported the movie in creating a community development program.
The screening of this much-anticipated movie will take place in different townships and entry will be free.
According to organizers, the aim of this community development initiative is to educate and empower the youth of South Africa.
“Every South African must watch this breath-taking movie now that it’s
coming to your township.
“The movie stars Limpopo Boy, Tinah Mnumzana, Sibongiseni Shezi and other famous actors that stepped up their talent to impress the South African audience.
“The film is about Youth Empowerment which also teaches parents on how to build solid relationships with their teenagers,” says Nompumelelo Nkabinde, the producer.
Dark Beauty was selected in Silicon Valley film festival in California, USA as well in Sotambe Zambia for best feature 2022.
The highly entertaining drama is recommended for the whole family as it aims to educate while entertaining.
The film will be screening in the following townships
1. Alex Sankopano Community Hall on 14 October 2023 from 13h00-16h00
2. Kagiso Community Hall on 21 October 2023 from 13h00-16hoo
3. Ivory Park North Hall on 27 October 2023 from 12h00-14h30
4. Diepsloot Youth Centre on 28 October 2023 from 13h00-16h00.
Nkabinde says, “Dark Beauty is a proudly South African
film designed to empower our youth, build families and inspire the nation.
“We would like to invite every single family member to the screening,” she said.
The film is directed by Germain Atabe Ayum, who directed the famous South African movie, Mzamo, now airing on MNET-DSTV. He was also nominated best director-Southern Africa in Sotambe International Film Festival, Zambia, and International Independent Film Festival, USA.
“The crew is excited and thankful to God for the opportunity to build communities by screening the movie for free to all those who couldn’t afford watching it in cinemas,” concluded Nkabinde.
