Research shows that reading is significant for developing your mind and imparting knowledge and life lessons. It aids in your comprehension of the world around you.
It keeps your mind active and enhances your creative abilities. Reading can enhance your vocabulary and communication skills.
Recently, Julius Malema mocked his fellow politician and said, ” People who read a book ,they reason better than Fikile Mbalula. Fikile doesn’t read and has got no time to himself. He hasn’t visited a book in the long time.”
Despite its controversial nature, many will affirm that reading leaves one deeply changed, for good!
Desmond Khumbuza, who hails from Khakhala in Giyani, is a staunch believer in books and reading.
Desmond, who is also identified as a bookworm, bibliophile, intellectual, or bookaholic, advises people to engage in learning always.
He said it wasn’t late for people to study and that education has no age limit. “It also helps a lot in our daily lives in how to approach and address issues, especially in the community.
“Reading books maintains discipline and order in someone’s character.
“I am encouraging people of God globally to read books and gain more knowledge and wisdom that can be passed down to future generations.
“Education is the key to success. And it’s the weapon that the world can use to conquer poverty,” he said.
Desmond, the first born son of Mr Masenyani and Mrs Tsakani Khumbuza, is a private bodyguard by profession.
He is also a motivational speaker who encourages people in various events such as parties, weddings, and churches at large.
In 2005, he obtained a degree in Human Resource Management at the University of South Africa (UNISA).
In 2018 he graduated from the Academy of York College in Marketing management. In 2022, he went to The Institute for Marriage and Family Affairs (TIMFA) in the USA and was ordained as a Marriage Mentor and Relationship Coach.
In 2022, he went back to the Academy of York and graduated in Team Leadership Management.
“The importance of education is more like expanding my territory and having more keys to open any door that could be on my way to the brighter days.”
He says he sees himself having a TV show that will motivate and encourage people to stay strong and never lose hope, regardless of the challenges they might face.
“Education is the key to success. And it’s the weapon that the world can use to conquer poverty,” he concluded.
