A 47-year-old man was arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing incident that occurred on Friday night, 28 June 2024, in Leboeng policing area in Sekhukhune District
Police and emergency medical services responded to a report of a stabbing on the morning of Saturday, 29 June, Kgautswane village, Ohrigstad. Upon arrival, police officers found a 37-year-old man with multiple stab wounds in his backyard. The victim was certified dead at the scene.
Through diligent investigation and cooperation from the community, detectives identified and apprehended the 47-year-old suspect who resides in the same village.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was stabbed in the night after he got into a physical altercation with the suspect.
The motive behind the incident will be determined through ongoing police investigation.
The suspect appeared before Leboeng Periodical Court on Tuesday, 02 July 2024, on a charge of murder.
