A 34 year-old, African male was arrested during an intelligence driven disruptive operation conducted by the Hawks based Secunda Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Secunda Crime Intelligence and Secunda Dog Unit (K9), on Thursday, 4 July 2024 in Embalenhle Mpumalanga.
Information was received and actioned regarding a suspect who was in possession of drugs.
Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi said the team identified the suspect and found drugs as well as cell phones in his possession.
“Drugs to the value of hundred and ten thousand rand (R110 000.00 ) were confiscated.
“The suspect was arrested, charged and detained pending his first court appearance on Friday, 5 July 2024 at Evander Magistrates Court,” said Sekgotodi.
The Provincial Head Major General Gerber applauded the multidisciplinary team for this seizure.
Gerber was happy that a nother consignment of drugs destined for distribution was removed from the market.
“This will affect the suppliers and as the Hawks we will continue our fight against narcotics. Investigation is continuing,” Gerber said.
