Tshamutumbu police in Vhembe district have launched a manhunt for an unknown suspect who stabbed and killed a 17-year-old boy. The incident took place on Sunday, 07 July 2024 at about 02h00 in Madimbo village.
Police received a complaint of murder from the local medical facility.Upon arrival, the deceased was found to have suffered a stab wound to the upper body.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was stabbed by an unknown male suspect while at a local restaurant and he fled the scene, leaving the victim lying in a pool of blood.
Ledwaba said the motive behind the killing remains a subject of police investigations.
He said a case of murder was opened.
“Police appeal to anyone with information that can assist in tracing the suspect to contact the Investigating Officer Warrant Officer Ntshavheni Colbert Netshiavha at 082 414 1621 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or send information via the MySAPS App,” Ledwaba said.
