A 30-year-old male suspect, Gift Chabalala, who was nabbed for a murder of his girlfriend that occurred in Xitlhelani village at Malamulele policing area, appeared before Malamulele Magistrate’s Court, on Tuesday, 09 July 2024.
He was remanded in custody until 17 July 2024 for bail application.
The suspect who is also a parolee was arrested after the Police in Malamulele discovered a lifeless body of a woman aged 30, along R81 towards Xitlhelani village, on Saturday, 29 June 2024, at around 18:45.
Subsequent to the incident, Police were called to the scene. Upon arrival, the EMS personnel were already at the scene. The female victim was found with multiple stab wounds, and she was certified dead.
“She was identified as Grammy Mthombeni, aged 30, residing at Xitlhelani village.
“The Police after the brutal murder opened a case of murder for further investigations, which led to the arrest of the suspect, on Saturday, 07 July 2024,” said Coonel Malesela Ledwaba.
