Warrant Officer Annius Mmutle from the Nietverdiend SAPS in Zeerust, who was found guilty by the Zeerust Regional Court for the murder of his estranged wife and her suspected lover, will be sentenced on Friday, 2 August 2024.
The accused officer allegedly followed his estranged wife to a house in Zeerust Township, in March 2023, where he fired shots which fatally wounded the duo. The officer is detained at the Rooigrond Prison in Mahikeng.
The estranged wife was also a police officer based at the Kopfontein Port of Entry (Border) which links South Africa and Botswana through Zeerust and Gaborone.
