A 31-year-old foreign national suspect has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly hacking his fellow countryman to death in the early hours of Friday, 30 August 2024, at the Oaks Trust Village in the Hoedspruit policing precinct.
According to reports, the victim, a 43-year-old man, was involved in a heated argument with the suspect when the altercation turned deadly. Police responded to the scene, where the victim was certified dead.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the motive behind the incident is currently unknown. A case of murder has been registered, and the suspect is expected to appear before the Hoedspruit by Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 02 September 2024.
