Tj Malemela, a 50-year-old father of two from Limpopo and a seasoned member of the South African Police Service (SAPS) with over 22 years of experience, has released his a book that speaks directly to the youth of today.
Malemela, who holds a Degree in Policing and currently serves as a Protector for Members of the Executive in Government, brings his vast experience and passion for community development to the pages of this personal work.
In his new book, Malemela addresses a critical issue facing young people: the belief that there are fewer work prospects available, coupled with the fear that without a university education, they may never secure a successful career.
He challenges this narrative and urges young people to recognize and seize the numerous opportunities available to them, rather than resorting to illegal activities to “earn a living.”
“Crime is the intentional commission of an act that is considered socially damaging or hazardous and is expressly defined, forbidden, and penalized,” writes Malemela.
He emphasizes that while inequality and limited access to opportunities may pose challenges, they should never be used as excuses to justify crime. Through compelling storytelling and practical advice, Malemela encourages young readers to take charge of their lives and make conscious choices that shape their futures positively.
This book offers valuable insights into people’s choices and how these choices define their lives. Malemela’s engaging narrative style ensures that once you start reading, you won’t be able to put the book down. It’s a call to action for every young person feeling lost or discouraged by their circumstances.
Whether you are a young person seeking direction or someone looking to understand the struggles and aspirations of today’s youth, this book is a must-read. Malemela invites readers to “sit back, get your favorite drink, and enjoy the read” as they embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
