A well-coordinated intelligence-driven operation by police in Malamulele has led to the swift arrest of six suspects in connection with a business burglary at a well-known furniture store’s storeroom in Malamulele. The breakthrough resulted in the recovery of stolen property worth over R70,000.

On Monday, 10 March 2025, at approximately 10h30, Malamulele police acted on a tip-off regarding suspects linked to the February burglary at the local shopping complex. The operation led to the arrests of six suspects at different locations within the Malamulele policing area.

Among the arrested suspects, three are relatives aged between 21 and 25. The first suspect was found in possession of three new fridges and later led police to a shack where a bed was recovered. His two relatives were found with a fridge, stove, washing machine, and a bed at their separate homes.

Additionally, two of the beds were discovered hidden in a kraal belonging to one of the suspects.

The operation extended into the early hours of Tuesday, leading to the arrest of three more suspects, aged between 25 and 34. Police recovered items that had been sold to them by the primary suspects. These three individuals have been charged with possession of suspected stolen property.

The suspects are scheduled to appear before the local Magistrate’s on Wednesday, 12 March 2025.

Limpopo Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the team for their outstanding work, emphasizing SAPS’s dedication to combating crime.

“This operation is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our police officers in ensuring that criminals are brought to book.

“The swift arrests and recovery of stolen goods send a clear message that crime will not be tolerated in our province,” said Hadebe.
