Statement of the African National Congress Zone 13 on the provisional withdrawal of charges against Comrade Kenneth Mgaga
Comrade Kenneth Mgaga appeared before the Wynberg Magistrates Court where his charge of rape was provisionally withdrawn.
We have always maintained that we have confidence in law enforcement agencies as well as the judiciary and we believe that the decision was well considered by the court.
We also wish to acknowledge Cde. Mgaga’s exemplary conduct during this period.
Apart from voluntarily stepping aside, he did not do public statements and respected the unfolding legal process.
We will recommend to the Regional Executive Committee that Cde. Mgaga be allowed to continue serving in structures where he has been deployed and to lead the community in their daily struggles.
