Aubrey Manaka (29), who is accused of killing Capricorn TVET College student, Precious Ramabulana (21) told the Limpopo High Court yesterday that he doesn’t know how many times he stabbed her.
However, Prosecutor Trot Mphahlele said that the autopsy revealed that Ramabulana had 90 incisions from stab wounds.
“I stabbed her to over power her and I then rapped her. I stabbedher to death because I feared she would recognize and report me to the police,”Manaka told the court.
His attorney, Lawrence Manzini, argued that Manaka’s intention was to talk nicely with Ramabulana.
He is charged with murder, rape, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and housebreaking with intent to rape Ramabulana from whom he stole two cell phones.
She was found stabbed to death in her room in an off-campus residence in Mokomene on 24 November 2019.
The police found her body in a pool of blood with several stab wounds.
Manaka was arrested at his parental home in Nyakelang Village, Botlokwa on 28 November 2019.
He abandoned bail during his first court appearance on December 2, 2019, and was remanded in custody.
The man was also involved in the rape of a 4-year-old girl in 2014.
