EFF leader Julias Malema
a said former president Jacob Zuma had a right to medical parole.
He said this at today’s media briefing held at 20th Roosevelt,Alexandra during the red-beret’s campaign. EFF members came in large numbers to propose to be voted in the South African local elections of 1 November.
“Medical issues are personal matters and they should remain like that. Let us not set a wrong precedent. I’m not going to be questioning people’s health.
“We have never asked for the buttocks of Hellen Zille. No one has ever asked her which medicine did she apply in doing buttocks?
“Anyone who is sick k and the medical parole sits and evaluate the medical conditions of any prisoner and come to the conclusion that this prisoner is sick, it is within their rights to release that particular person.”
Malema said the EFF has full confidence in the medical parole board, SANDF, Health Department that look after Zuma.
“President Zuma has been very sick. And he is such an individual who refuses to talk about his health conditions. From where we are, there’s nothing that makes us to suspect foul play.
“So it didn’t come as a surprise that he is now being released on medical parole.
“We are Africans. When a person is sick, we respect that. We don’t fight people on their death bed. If this is what the white majority enjoy, questioning people in their death bed, let them continue with this colonial mentality of disrespecting Africans.
“We fought our battles with president Zuma and we are done. We are on the next chapter now.”
