“Black people use their heart to vote instead of using their brain,” said ActionSA’s Shadrack Mkhonto, who lost the battle to the ANC’s Tefo Raphadu at the local elections.
“History is about to happen in ward 105, Alexandra. Get ready with your crew to report to Alexandrians, and to the City of Johannesburg that since the Dawn of Democracy, there has been no party to ever win the ward from the ANC in Alexandra for the past 27 years,” the optimist Mkhonto told Alex Reporter’s Jonk wa Mashamba at approximately 4:36 on November 1st.
“The 2021 local government elections have come with surprises that many people will be shocked when the ward is won from the ANC by the new kid on the block Herman Mashaba’s ActionSA .
“The ward by tomorrow morning, the 2nd of November, the ANC would show ward 105 with a finger… it will be gone. Mkhonto is in the house.”
He also jokingly said that he would arrange an ambulance for the people who would be affected by a heart attack.
Nevertheless, the ‘Black Mamba’ lost the battle against Raphadu. He said he would go back to council as the public representative of ActionSA throughout Alex.
“I feel that our people, or the residents of Ward 105 in particular, should stop complaining about service delivery.”
He said it was an opportunity for them to switch councillors and find somebody who would make sure they got the services they deserve.
“But instead, residents have decided to elect Tefo again as a councillor. I just wonder how our people think, because ward 105 got got lots of problems. Residents are complaining, always of lack of service deliveries.”
The man nicknamed Alex’s mayor said that some people no longer felt it was important to vote.
“Some people decided not to vote because they don’t see the reason they should vote. They forget that the longer they abstain from the vote, the more they allow the ANC councillor to continue to lead them.
“As I always say, blacks use their hearts to vote instead of their brains. Because of the past history, they forgot that we are not living in the past, but we are focusing on the future of our children and our grandchildren.”
The former PR councillor for DA laughed at the DA’s poor performance and accused the party of weeping with tears of blood.
Ward 105 under escom power lines there is ppl who are claiming to own electricity and have illegally supplied the houses there and making them pay R1000 for connections and tefo is doing nothing about this matter.
