Members of Patriotic Alliance ward 81 made their presence felt when they visited the Riverpark Clinic.
According to PR councillor, Oupa Sako, the Riverpark clinic is one of the busiest clinics in Region E.
However, he says, the clinic has a major influx problem.
” People from outside the demarcation make it difficult for nurses to cope, because it affects their turn around time.
“Second issue is that workers are not paid enough and some nurses consider resigning, which is bad.
“Patriotic Alliance in ward 81 is not happy about the number of illegal foreigners in our clinics who are making our people to wait longer in a queues,” he said.
The dedicated members also visited Johannesburg Water after residence of Riverpark struggled with water for 3 months.
Sako said the water was as a result of “the entity’s failure to deliver water, alleging that they were having tender irregularities”.
“We therefore condemn this behaviour of the city of JHB leadership. Similar problem is also hitting the residents of Kew along 9th road whereby they took water tank for cleaning and never brought it back.
“Our organisation is not going to sit back and watch the people suffering due to the laziness of municipal officials.
“Patriotic Alliance is ready to help our people to take care of their own infrastructure and to hold those responsible accountable,” said Sako.
