COJ Speaker Cllr Makhubele lends helping hand to flood victims

In the past week, there have been heavy rains that affected the residents of the City of Johannesburg and surrounding areas.

This has resulted to many families in the informal settlements being displaced, homeless, and others left stranded. Among the affected areas is the South of Johannesburg.

Cllr Colleen Makhubele commenting on the disaster said, “Our office is committed in reaching out to those affected, it is our mandate to serve the people of the City Johannesburg as we also feel their suffering.

As the Speaker of the City, I plead and invite all stakeholders, businesses, and role players to roll their sleeves in helping our people.”

The Speaker will on the 15 February 2023 be visiting the following areas: Region F- Ward 11
Meeting point- Steeldale, Diversity Hoerskool
Region A- Ward 111
Meeting point- Ivory Park Police Station.
