The Mpumalanga Department of Education has learnt with shock about a horrific accident between a bus ferrying learners of Morélig Primary School and train at Mafube Village outside Ntokozweni at Emakhazeni Local Municipality.
Six learners have succumbed to injuries and others who sustained injuries have been rushed to the nearest hospital.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the accident.
A team from the Department of Education and School Governing Body rushed to the scene of the accident.
MEC Cathy Dlamini has conveyed her condolences to the families of the deceased.
The Minister of Basic Education, Ms Siviwe Gwarube, and MEC Dlamini will this morning visit the school and the affected families.
Both MEC and Minister have conveyed a message of support to those in hospital and wished them speedy recovery.
