The incident occurred on Sunday around 4:30 at 17th Avenues (Vasco)
TK told Alex Reporter that the robbery occurred next to where his in-laws and kids live.
He said he was approached by four men who asked for a lighter.
“I told them I didn’t smoke but would go and ask in the house,of which I did.”
He said when he came back, two men emerged from nowhere and ambushed him.
They pointed him with a gun and a knife before they mugged him of his phone.
When the thugs had ran away, he immediately alerted his brother in-law who swiftly managed to run after them and took his phone back. That’s how the thugs were identified.
“When we opened the case, the police were very helpful and the suspects were arrested today.
“I want to thank Alex Police, in particular Station Commander and Captain Makgethe for their assistance. And of course, to the entire force for their swift response especially during this season where most of us are vulnerable to these criminals.”
TK said he was grateful that he was not hurt.
“Over and above, I’m glad the police responded swiftly and the suspects were apprehended.”
The 29-year old radio guru said Alex had no place for criminals.
“They must think twice before doing what those thugs did to me.
“Those thugs messed with the wrong guy. We really don’t want people in our community who are going to threaten our lives. Such people must be jailed!”
