An angry man from Alex demands that Shoprite should pay him for the shock he went through.
Our deep-throat whose identity is known to Alex Reporter said he bought pork rashers and pork rib chops ,among others, at Shoprite,Eastbank branch, on the 1st December around 6pm.
Upon arrival at his place, the source got the shock of his life when he discovered the meat had badly rotten with foul smell .
The same day before 8 pm, he returned the meat but didn’t want refund or exchange.
The source allegedly met one of the managers at Shoprite known as Sharon Phakula, when it was suggested that he should be given another meat, of which he declined.
“I demand that Shoprite pays me R 800 000 for compensation so that the incident doesn’t recur.”
Alex Reporter contacted Phakula but her phone rung unanswered. We then sent her messages via WhatsApp on Friday before she blocked us.
We then sent her text message, asking to be given numbers of someone who could respond to our messages, but she had not responded by the time of going to print.
an employee at Shoprite, who asked to remain anonymous, said Phakula, a River park tenant, was a bully manager.
When we checked Shoprite facebook page, it had users who spoke bad about certain products.
Amongst them was Lebogang Mokgalaka Layla Ramaoka who wrote: “I will never ever buy Shoprite branded stuff. Shoprite eggs are always rotten. Tin fish tastes somehow and the milk is always rotten.”
Nkeke Raselepe, another facebooker, wrote: “I bought flour from Shoprite Modimolle in Limpopo which had worms.”
Thandoh Dlamini also wrote that she bought boerewors at Shoprite at Mandeni Mall and it was also rotten.
Shoprite admin replied: “Hi Thandoh, thank you for getting in touch. We are really sorry to hear this. We want our customers to receive quality products at all times. kindly inbox us with your contact number and email address so we can best assist.”
