The South African Police Service in Mankweng under Capricorn District are on a manhunt for unknown suspects following a mob attack at a local spaza shop in Mamadimo Park on Thursday 30 May 2024 at about 22:30.
The police were called to Mamadimo Park due to a report of business robbery. Upon arrival, they found an unknown man lying on the ground with injuries on his forehead.
The scene was immediately attended by the EMS who declared him dead upon arrival.
According to information, the gangster allegedly accosted a spaza shop owner, pointed a firearm at him, and demanded money.
The owner complied and gave him money, but the suspect demanded more. As a result of not giving him more money, the thug shot him on the thigh and waist.
“The owner screamed for help and the community came to his rescue and managed to disarm, and severely assault him.
“The suspect succumbed to his injuries at the scene while the owner of the spaza shop was later taken to the hospital for medical assistance.
“A manhunt for the suspects responble for the murder of the robber is currently underway.
