The Thage family has confirmed to Alex Reporter that they have identified the body of Neo Thage (18), who was shot dead last night in Marlboro.
Neo’s picture was posted by Alex Reporter in search of the family when it was posted on Alex Crime WhatsApp group.
The devastated family at 18th Selbourne, Alexandra, was very disturbed when we showed them unedited pictures containing graphic content.
According to the patroller who took the picture, Neo and four boys had pretended to be patrollers.
The source said the boys were planning to rob a white man who works at a Marlboro firm and had carried a gun and two-way radios that are commonly used by patrollers.
” They were trying to rob the car of which the owner was inside,” said the source.
According to the patroller, the white man called the patrollers to verify if the deceased was a member of their team or not.
Neo was described by the Thage family as a boy who was sweet and friendly, but they had no idea what else he was doing outside.
They said it was a blow to the family as they were still recovering from the death of two family members who were buried previously.
Bramely police were not reached for comment at the time of publication.
