N3 North Gilloolys interchange under the bridge was affected when two trucks and two motor vehicles collided.
No injuries were reported, but all lanes remained closed, resulting in a delay of approximately 30 minutes.
Thabiso Makgato – EMPD spokesperson said, because of the spillage of the truck that was transporting cooking oil, the road was going to take a bit of time to be cleared.
Makgato said emergency services and tow trucks were working on it.
“Will keep you posted as soon as traffic is back to normal.Two alternative route for motorists going to the Airport or N12 Boksburg would be to offramp at Linksfield and take N3 direction South and take the N12 direction East, “said Makgato
He advised motorists to take R24 towards Eastgate then offramp at Mercedes Benz by Concorde road and “take the R24 East towards Emalahleni”.
