Nangamso Bapathwa ( 33) died on 29 April 2023 at a friend’s home in Kew.
That was after she was allegedly pushed by her boyfriend.
A family member who asked to remain anonymous said they were disturbed to see the boyfriend on the streets of Alex walking free.
When the family went to Sandriham Police Station to inquire about the case , the detective who opened the case allegedly told them that the docket was lost.
” We are devastated and emotionally drained
that the South African justice has failed us.
Bapathwa stayed at 159-11th avenue with her mother and two children aged 12 and 8.
She’s originally from Mthatha and she had 3 children.
She will be buried on the 13th of this month in Eastern Cape.
Gauteng Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo said: “A case of murder was opened at Sandringham Police Station and the suspect was arrested.
“The suspect was taken to court but the case was not enrolled by National Prosecution Authority (NPA), pending further investigation.
“The family of the deceased was informed of the latest outcome. It is not true that the docket is missing.”
