A feared man was arrested yesterday at his residence in Riverpark, and three firearms with more than 200 live ammunition were confiscated by the Provincial Organized Crime and TRU.
According to law, Alex Reporter cannot reveal his full identity until he appears in court this week.
The man who is known by the community of Riverpark as a dangerous man has confessed to the police that he killed Judith Makwela because he wanted revenge.
He alleged that the son of the late JMPD officer killed his brother and father.
“He has been terrorizing the community for a very long time,” said one of the cops who arrested the man.
“He is arrested for murder with other 3 men and 1 woman last night,” a reliable source close to the case said.
Lesego Selepe, Makwela’s daughter told journalists that she witnessed her mother and brother being shot last week Friday.
Makwela was shot while in her vehicle outside her residence in Riverpark, Alexandra. She was transported to Edenvale Hospital, but she died from her injuries.
” It’s tough. I relied on my mother big time. She was the only parent I had. Five years ago, my dad passed away. He was also shot,” Lesego told the SABC news.
A family member who asked to remain anonymous due to fear of victimization said Makwela reported 2 or 3 cases of attempted murder and intimidation. He mentioned that she recognized a few of the people who entered her house. ” The motive was to kill her,” he said.
While a family representative said the police have failed them, the community of Alex is still reeling in shock.
He described Makwela as a peace-loving woman who has greatly contributed to the community of Alex.
During the memorial service held at Riverpark, Pastor Hasani, a member of JMPD, said that despite Makwela’s brutal death, God was with the family.
“God is with you. He is closer to you. We have the comforter, which is the Holly Spirit. It will give us strength to move on and pick up the pieces. I encourage you to be strong and trust God. He is worthy of trust in times like these,” said pastor Hasani.
According to information at our disposal, Makwela had taxi services. Her husband was shot and killed.
