20 people were killed and more than 200 injured when the earthquake struck Southern Pakistan, General Naseer Nasir, the Disaster Management Authority Director said on Thursday.
The quick quake with a magnitude of 5.7 was relatively shallow at 20 kms with an epicentre 102 km east of Quetta, said the US Geological Survey (USGS).
Mud houses estimated around more than 200 collapsed and a large number were damaged, including government buildings.
Many people were rendered homeless, Sohail Anwar, Deputy Commissioner in the City of Harnal, told Reuters.
The deceased were mostly women and children, said rescue officials.
