Five people have lost their lives while 2 sustained severe injuries, after single vehicle lost control and overturned on the R63 in Bedford towards Adelaide in the Eastern Cape.
The acident occurred on the last night around 22H20 when the vehicle, a Renault Sandero was travelling from Adelaide towards Bedford with 7 occupants, 6 females and male, including 7 years child girl.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, which overturned, killing four people on the scene. One died upon arrival at Bedford Hospital.
The 2 injured females sustained serious injuries and were taken to Bedford Provincial hospital for further medical attention.
The main cause of the crash still unknown at this stage.
The police said a case of culpable homicide docket has been opened at Bedford Saps for further investigations.
