Dozens of Bode residents outside Giyani protested outside the Giyani Magistrate’s Court after Samson Baloyi murdered his wife, Nelly Mabasa with a spade.
Nelly was killed at Maswanganyi village outside Giyani in November 2022.
Speaking to our sister publication, Giyani View, the residents stated that they were from the village of Bode, and that they were in court to support Nelly’s family.
Nelly, a resident of Bode, was married to Samson, a resident of the village of Maswanganyi.
A resident who introduced himself as Nkovani, said that they were against gender-based violence.
“Our women are murdered every day, and they need our protection. Baloyi should not be granted a bail,” he said.
