Gauteng churches have set a lasting example by demonstrating the importance of togetherness as the body of Christ.
Pastor A Tshikota from Army of Worship Bible Church and Pastor V Sello of Saint Messiah’s Ministries set up a game between Alex pastors and Daveton pastors as part of their mission to enhance unity in their churches.
Tshikota described the event as successful, calling it a great game that was full of love, learning and fun.
According to him, the objective was to establish lasting relationships among pastors in Gauteng.
“Our aim was to see the pastors knowing each other and serve God with one goal and vision,” he said.
“Pastors and brothers in Alex played a game against Daveton. Alex gave 2 strikers to Daveton since their team was short of players. (Alex 9 and Daveton 13). The games were amazing.
“We are eagerly anticipating the Alex vs. Mamelody game that will be announced soon,” he said.
Tshikota expressed his delight at the prospect of many more pastors and brothers from Alexandra joining then in these games.
He mentioned that they contributed R100 each for braai and drinks.
He said they had men conversations for a short period prior to the start of the games, adding that they always encouraged young boys in the church to participate in activities as that keeps them away from unwanted lifestyles.
“Now in the church we also play soccer and create fun for our sons,” he said.
Pastor B Tshabalala of Lesedi Community Church, Apostle G Munyai of Johannesburg Christian Centre, Elder Clement of Assemblies of God, and Apostle Mabaso of Alter of Christ Eagles Ministries were among the men of cloth who graced the event.
Apostle Mabaso emerged as the man of the match.
