The ugly video of two men seen abusing young girls in Alexandra, Ext 9, went viral. Some membersof the community suspected that the perpetrators were members of the Dudula Movement.
However, some went gun blazing, defending the men and argued the two were not members of the Dudula Movement.
On Friday night (18 March, 2022) Alex Reporter’s Editor and founder, Jonk wa Mashamba, phoned the leader of the controversial group, Simon ‘Msayza’ Rati, for clarity.
” Yes, I can confirm, those two are members of Dudula Movement. They were arrested and released today. I have seen the video and it’s true, they are our members,” Msayza said.
Before we contacted Msayza, we had first phoned Agnes Malatjie, the Dudula Movement PRO, who said: ” leadership, may you please contact Msayza. I can’t really comment, because nna I’m always at Pan. I’m clueless as to what’s happening regarding houses.”

Earlier I’m the morning, we contacted Alex Police Station Commander, Brigadier Lindiwe Magudulela concerning the incident. She then went to check the traumatized girls.
Magudulela, told us that the girl seen on the video is the daughter of Sergeant Mabunda, who works at the Alex SAPS.
“Those girls are still traumatized. I will organize counseling for them,” she said, adding that the house belonged to Mabunda’s sister who was in Limpopo.
Magudulela also confirmed the men arrested as members of Dudula. She said the house was still in a complete mess following the ransacking.
“There’s someone who has illegally bought that house already ,” she said.
Yesterday, a female officer, belonging to Alex SAPS, was seen with a state vehicle (Reg BTR066GP), entering another victim’s house.
It is alleged that the officer might have worked with the rotten apples within Dudula Movement and bought the RDP.
When asked about what steps the police will take concerning one of them, Magudulela said: “I think we should register an inquiry with Col Matlabo of Anti Corruption Provincial Office, let her be investigated.”
Family members in Ext.9 were allegedly assaulted, had firearms pointed at them, and had their belongings turfed out of their house.
Since last week Saturday, the family said they have been through torture and hurt at the hands of Dudula members in Alexandra.
The family told the Scrolla.Africa team that they are South Africans with no other place to call home except South Africa.
Hilda Mthombeni, 32, who was in the house when a group arrived at her home carrying sticks, stones and firearms, said she is still traumatized just thinking about what the group did to her and her family. “They told us to get out of the house because we are foreigners.
“They found some of the children studying and started harassing them and telling everyone to move out of the house.”
When one of her brothers, Ronnie Mashele, heard the story on Sunday, he came to the house too, but was badly assaulted with sticks and stones. His face has wounds and blue eyes.
Some of the traumatized family members jumped through the roof to escape the angry men. “It was very chaotic,” said Hilda.
Hilda said the group had been there from Saturday until Wednesday, determined to evict them from the house they have lived in for 12 years.
“My sister who is in Limpopo owns the house but because she found a job and works from there, I have been staying here with the children.
“I don’t know where the Dudula members got the idea that I am a foreigner,” said Hilda.
A police officer who attended the scene told Scrolla. Africa that the gogo has left the house with her grandchildren to stay with a distant relative.

Gauteng provincial police spokesman Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed the arrests. He said police are investigating cases of theft, illegal eviction, and assault GBH.

There are more than 200 criminal cases at the Alexandra police station against the members.
Police have also confirmed the previous cases and said investigations were ongoing.
“Our big mandate as a movement has been to reclaim the township economy for South Africans, fight crime and drug abuse in the society, and lead from the front,” Msayza told Scrolla. Africa.
He claims that since 1995, the movement has illegally evicted and reclaimed more than 100 RDP houses owned by foreigners – both documented and undocumented – in Alexandra.
Over the years, the Dudula Movement has been accused of other crimes.
“I know that there are more than 300 cases registered at the Alexandra and Bramley police stations of rape, attempted murder, pointing of firearms, assault, and others,” he explained.
