The name Thabiso Matsapola is a synonym for giving.
If this DJ, also known as Emjayziel from Polokwane, is not working on good music, he saves a family somewhere, by landing hand.
His project, Matswaing Care Group, a nonprofit organization (NPO), helps disadvantaged people in his community.
Addressing Alex Reporter, Emjayziel says he helps all those in need.
“We are helping the orphaned, homeless children, the unemployed and those with disabilities.
“We provide assistance with food parcels and clothing.
“When many houses were destroyed by storms, we helped with cement and other building materials,” says the celebrated artist.
His charitable acts saw him appear on television and were listened to on the radio.
His NPO was registered in 2016.
Emjayziel says that during the national lockdown, his NPO handed out food parcels, clothing and blankets to the less fortunate.
“After the storm Cyclone Eloise that destroyed many homes in Limpopo, we managed to help the affected people, with roofing materials, cements and sands, among other things.”
His campaign has no funding.
“We are mainly reaching out to business owners, supermarkets, clothing stores, clothing stores, etc., looking for donors and sponsors to be able to expand our work in the community and beyond.”
Emjayziel attended the Fedile Secondary School in Botlokwa (Matoks) village outside Polokwane.
“I matriculated there and went to study acting in Polokwane.
“I then focused on music as an independent artist who does all music genres, under my own record label called EmJayziel Entertainment,” he said.
He is also the head of CWSB Clothing.
His advice: “Blacks must work hard for their goals.
“They should be creative and create jobs by launching their own small business as foreign nationals do.”
