Police in Malamulele opened a murder case (seven charges) after seven family members were shot dead today by a family member.
The horrific incident occurred on December 25, 2021, shortly after midnight, at approximately 12:20 a.m., in the village of Jimmy Jones, Vhembe District.
The Limpopo police reported that the deceased are four children and three adults, including a heavily pregnant woman. The names of the deceased will be released later as the investigations were still unfolding.
“The suspect was later arrested after he handed himself over to the police in Thohoyandou. The firearm that was allegedly used in the shooting was also seized.
“The motive for the incident is unknown at this stage, but a family feud cannot be ruled out”, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
