A 28-year-old man, Levy Nangoma, arrested for raping and killing his six-year-old neighbor, abandoned his bail. He appeared in Praktiseer Magistrates’ Court on 6 December and the case was postponed until 1 February 2022.
Boithakgatso Komane, who was murdered on 4 December, will be buried on Thursday, 9 December 2021 at Praktiseer outside Burgersfort in Dark City.
During his visit to the mourning family, the mayor of the local municipality of Fetakgomo Tubatse, Cllr Eddie Maila, sent messages of support and condolences.
He also congratulated the Praktiseer police on the rapid arrest of the rapist.
Maila was accompanied by Cllr Mashego RM Modipadi, Cllr Mphethi Dorah, Cllr Release Marwale Radingwana, Cllr Mamokgopa Dolly, Cllr Aubrey Ngwatle (his Exco members), Cllr Lethabile Joseph Kgwedi of Sekhukhune District Municipality and the ward 30 Cllr Magabe Sarah during their visits to the Sebanyoni and Komana families.
Limpopo MEC for Social Development Nkakareng Rakgoale will also be visiting the grieving family this afternoon at 14:00.
Social workers are already providing psycho-social support to the family and other affected parties.
