Gauteng MEC for Education, Panyaza Lesufi, will visit several schools in Gauteng on Monday, July 26, 2021 to check the readiness of schools for the third term.
Millions of learners will return to school for the Third Term on Monday following the winter break.
Lesufi reiterated that his department has continued to place the safety of all “our teaching and non-teaching staff, and our learners, at the heart of all our schooling plans”.
His department has also recruited thousands of COVID-19 screeners to help with the management of the virus at schools, including taking temperatures, ensuring hands are regularly sanitized while masks are worn at all times at schools.
“These interventions will help us ensure that we continue to provide quality education to our learners; while ensuring the safety of all,” Lesufi said.
