This follows the commitment made during the 2023/24 budget speech to procure 500 new ambulances to add to the existing EMS fleet in the province.
” Accordingly, suppliers have started with the delivery of vehicles, and the first batch of 70 ambulances has been received, and of these, 35 are ready for commisioning and have been allocated to the Mopani District. Other districts will be catered for in the upcoming batches until the 500 figure is realized,” said a source close to the situation.
