History was made in Alexandra, Ext 10, when three South African families got their homes back that were occupied by members of Dudula Movement.
The houses were illegally taken from them.
The unity between the CPF, former members of Dudula and residents resulted in the expulsion of members of Dudula who had occupied houses taken from legitimate owners.
According to the source the operation was also supported by the current Dudula members and ward 105 Councilor Tefo Raphadu.
” A lot of people have been crying in solidarity of South Africans who have been evicted,” said our deep throat who asked to remain anonymous.
The source said that after the meeting, they decided to reclaim all the homes from which South Africans were illegally evicted.
” There were also members of Dudula who were not happy about South Africans being evicted.
“They also came along and assisted us to evict those Dudula members who were illegally evicting South Africans from their own people.”
Our mole said the rightful owners were given back their houses.
” The community came in numbers, including former Dudula members who left Dudula due to illegal things happening. They were there to help us. It was a serious operation.
” Next week, we are going to Ext. 9. All evicted South Africans will get their houses back,” said the source.
Dudula has been in the spotlight for a few weeks, of course, for the wrong reasons.
Its leader, Simon ‘Msayza’ Rati, will appear in court on 20 June after he was arrested for public violence, among other charges.
Rati’s RDP house he reportedly occupied after its owner, Nceba Gaga (an old man from the Eastern Cape who is now homeless), was set on fire by the angry community.
Rati was arrested when he went to open a case of arson and assault against the community of Tsutsumani.
After Rati was arrested, Sibongile Ngobese, another Dudula senior member, was allegedly hunted down and found by the same furious members.
She was heavily beaten, neclaced and doused with petrol, but was saved when police arrived at last gate.
On the video, that went viral, Ngobese said: ” I’m no longer a Dudula member anymore. Iam not Dudula.”
She has been admitted in Tembisa Hospital and faces charges of illegal eviction, public violence, assault and pointing of firearms ,amongst others.
The ailing Dudula was dealt a blow when its spokesperson, Agnes Malatjie resigned.
In the letter that Mashamba Media saw, Malatjie penned: “I’m serving this resignation letter to you with immediate effect.
Unfortunately, my my journey with the Movement has to end here, due to recent uncalled for activities which are highly against my morals and principles and what I thought the Movement stood for.
“I accepted whole heartedly to be the P.R.O./ Face of Dudula because I thought the mandate and objectives were all a good course and would bring South African communities change, unity and a chance to advance their lives and living hood.
“Thank you for the opportunity given. But it all ends here for me with immediate effect.
“Yours sincerely
Agnes Malatjie.”
Raphadu once said this about Dudula, after Dudula made claims that he was a member:
“This group has turned to be a law unto themselves hiding behind the guise of correcting occupation of houses by illegal foreigners.
“I have no relationship with Dudula nor have ever called them for any type of help.”
There are more than 200 criminal cases at the Alexandra police station against the members.
Police have also confirmed the previous cases and said investigations were ongoing.
