According to the source close to the situation, a group of people led by a person who allegedly introduced himself as a councillor went to the Marlboro containers and asked to view the place on Sunday, the 05th of August. He was let in by the security officers.
On his way out, a group of people allegedly forced entry into the premises. The security personnel allegedly fired rubber bullets.
A number of people were injured, and one of them was the EFF PR Councillor Moshe Mphahlele, who was rushed to Masakhane Clinic.
According to reports, the councillor was allegedly shot with live ammunition. EFF members gathered outside the clinic in anticipation of good news. However, he succumbed to injuries.
One of the EFF supporters who was with the councillor on Friday said that he left them with touching words. The source said that Moshe had told them that he would die by a bullet and die for a black child, and die for a struggle.
“He said and I quote, ‘I will die young like abo Steve Biko, people who died for a struggle. I will leave a legacy for my children. They will know that I died for my people'”.
