Many people have come to believe that Alex has great talent after Mr & Miss Alexandra’s recent crowning of their ambassadors for 2024.

The following people were crowned: Thando Motha – Miss Alexandra,
Lesego Mogabudi – Mr Alexandra, Sarah Mogale – 1st Runner up, Kabelo Rangwato – 1st Runner up,
Kutlwano Magoro – 2nd Runner up, and Godfrey Dlodlo – 2nd Runner up.

This great event was organized by Nomsa Motha (Director), Tshepo Mosima (Co-Director), Mahlatse Mabaso (Co-Director), Millicent Seromo (Mentor), and Bhelandile Jack (Mentor).

Nomsa told Alex Reporter that their main purpose was to build future leaders who will represent Alexandra with dignity and pride, provide skills to the youth of Alexandra, and continuously improve the social issues “we face in our community. To empower them to take flight beyond the limits that life presents for them and be the catalyst for change in our community”.

“Our journey starts with our enduring mission. It proclaims our purpose as a non-profit organization and serves as the standard against which we consider our actions and decisions,” said Nomsa.

Mr & Miss Alexandra was relaunched in 2018, and since then it has grown significantly. She said that everyone is welcome to participate, but participants should be between the ages of 18 and 28.

Asked about the challenges, she said, “We struggle a lot financially. We need sponsors to assist us. That will help us with workshops for the participants, transportation, and hosting costs.

“We would like to ask companies to assist with funding and offer more of their services as we aim to assist youth in getting out of the streets and avoiding unhealthy behaviors.”

Nomsa advised young people to enter this pageant, especially if they see themselves as the next Miss SA or making an impact in their communities. Our approach to social issues is to reduce the number of negative behaviors that our community is known for.

“Alexandra is a beautiful place with a lot of talent. We should encourage our youth to do better, and with this platform, they will be able to achieve great things.”
