A nine-year-old child was reportedly sexually harassed in the classroom by three male learners, while the teacher left them unsupervised.
The Not In My Name Ga-Rankuwa branch visited the school with the family and planned to go to the police station to seek justice.
The girl was subsequently brought to the police station where a rape kit was used where penetration was confirmed.
The principal of the school reportedly asked the family not to report the case to outsiders and asked for the case to be dealt with internally at the school.
According to Kabelo Theoha, chairman of Not In My Name, since the incident, no action has been taken by the school.
“The headmaster makes excuses when the family wants a meeting. He keeps telling them about his back to back meetings.
“And this is not the only horrifying case in the same school under the leadership of the same principal. He must Go! ” said Theoha.
