Pamela Mabini, a well-known community activist and whistleblower in the Timothy Omotoso rape and human trafficking case, was fatally shot in the driveway of her home in KwaZakhele.

After being threatened multiple times, Mabini, a vocal supporter of the victims in Omotoso’s trial, survived an assassination attempt in May 2018. Despite the danger, she remained committed to seeking justice, regularly attending court proceedings, and offering support to witnesses.

Her murder has caused shockwaves in the community, leading to concerns about the safety of activists and whistleblowers. The authorities haven’t confirmed if her killing is linked to her involvement in the case.

While investigations are ongoing, community leaders have urged swift action to bring those responsible to justice.
