The Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service, this afternoon, responded to the N2 Umtentweni for reports of a crash.
When the emergency services arrived, they discovered that four vehicles had been involved in a collision.
Paramedics quickly evaluated the site and found that 3 patients had sustained serious injuries, 2 had serious injuries and 3 had minor injuries.
The patients were treated on site before being taken to hospital for other treatments.
Unfortunately, five patients were fatally injured and died from their injuries prior to the arrival of emergency services.
Officials were at the scene investigating the cause of the collision.
