In a series of coordinated operations, members of the South African Police Service in Burgersfort, Sekhukhune District, including Tubatse Detectives, Tactical Response Team, and Capricorn Flying Squad, conducted successful raids at Praktiseer in Tubatse and Lebowakgomo CBD taxi rank.
The joint efforts of the multidisciplinary forces in Tubatse focused on tracking down wanted suspects. Acting on actionable intelligence, the teams pinpointed a rented residence in Praktiseer outside Burgersfort.
A search of the premises uncovered a male suspect in possession of three 107cm Plasma Television Sets and three Hisense microwaves believed to be linked to a robbery in January 2024 at an electric appliance store in Burgersfort.
According to Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the 26-year-old foreign national male was promptly apprehended for possession of suspected stolen goods after failing to provide proof of purchase.
“Meanwhile, the Capricorn District Flying Squad arrested a 36-year-old man on Thursday, 20 June 2024, for drug dealing and possession.
“Acting on a tip-off regarding drug transactions at Lebowakgomo taxi rank, police conducted thorough investigations leading to the suspect’s arrest with drugs and cash in his possession,”Ledwaba said.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo,Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the swift actions that led to these arrests.
Both arrested suspects are expected to appear before local Magistrate’s courts in due course.
Police investigations are ongoing.
