The principal of Realogile High School, Matthew Choshi said the donation of Class Virtual Reality enabled the learners to visit places they had only dreamed of.

He also said that the presentation of the VR class was tremendously exciting.

He said when he walked around the Super Science Land , he could immediately see that it would assist his students with concepts they had been struggling with “such an understanding magnetism and even how veins carry different elements”.

“We would like to thank you for the opportunity of seeing and experiencing virtual reality for the classroom.

“The headset is so easy to use. The fact that we could control which space I went into next and even at times where I needed to focus my attention in a specific space,” said Choshi.

Choshi said that just by seeing the reaction of educators in the environment, he was able to see a renewed level of enthusiasm.

“Our teachers can get frustrated because their hands are tied from a financial perspective to get new and exciting teaching aids.

According to Morwesi Shashaoka, account manager for Ulink , her company had been busy donating VR headsets to the underprivileged schools to bridge the gap between the privileged and the underprivileged schools.

“Realogile High school is our second underprivileged school we have donated the VR headset to. The 1st one was Cosmo City Junior Primary school,” said Shashaoka.

She said VR increases the level of education in the class and makes it easier for the learner to remember what the teacher is teaching in class.

“It’s an educational system that requires learners to be familiar with the technology.

“For example, learners are able to see the heart (and veins) in a full 3d format a vein all inside the VR headset.”

Ulink is a VR company that has been around for six years.

“Ulink is aiming to be part of the solution in the country and transform the students’ education through technology,” she said.
