Sizwe Miya is an activist against gender-based violence in his Alexandra community, but contrary to that, he allegedly continues to abuse the mother of his one-year-old boy regularly.
The baby mama, who has dated Sizwe for five years, alleges that every time she opens a case against him, he always allegedly runs away until the police close the case.
“I have lost so much hope in getting protection against this evil person. He always gets away with what he does.”
The woman, who cannot be named, alleges that Sizwe always participates in GBV campaigns and even visits Alex FM to speak about Men’s Forum.
“He attends and talks to people as if he is an innocent person. And he discourages men from committing GBV while he is the one who abuses his woman and his two year old son indoors.
“I have been asking myself how can he be the one fighting GBV while he is the one doing it.
“He hides his evil and cowardly deeds under #no excuse, so that people will see him as a great guy. He is so evil and heartless,” she says.
“The challenge is that I always report everything through the #no excuse team and they know everything, but nothing is done about it.
“He continues as an innocent person, going to campaigns to tell lies to people. He keeps telling me to go to the police fearlessly because he may be protected, I don’t know.”
“His team is hiding the monster that he is and they know everything. But instead, they make him a good person even though he’s a threat to his family.”
The Pedi woman (27), originally from Tzaneen, says Sizwe almost choked her to death. She says yesterday he attacked her and her mother, also breaking the window.
“Did she also tell you about my window, she smashed yesterday?” questions Sizwe, when he was asked whether he really broke the window.
Asked why did he break the window, Sizwe alleges that his baby mama wanted to pour him with hot water.
However, he said he used to abuse her before. He said after realizing his abusive behavior, he decided to seek help and join the men’s forum.
“But now I have changed. I’ve changed so much. You can’t change from everything at once. I’m still going through rehab.”
Sizwe (34) years from Bethlehem Free State is also part of the Ijozi Ihlomile, doing HIV/AIDS statistics in a clinic in Alex.
