Before Mr. Lee Tonic ( Jonk wa Mashamba) started Alex Reporter, he had a Karate school ( known as Jabu Tonic Karate Academy) where he brought young people together in his village called Gandlanani in Malamulele.
His unique skills as a karateka led him to be called Mr. Lee.
He plays drums, bass, and lead guitar and is a member of Powerlife Ekklesia worship team in Kaalfontein, Midrand.
He was a drummer for Doctor Thomas Chauke (Xinyori). He also played bass guitar (4 tracks) when Themba Chauke (Xinyori) recorded Ntsena Volume 5. He worked with artists likeThemba Chauke and Doctor Sithole for almost two years on a project called Ntokonto Music Development, where he taught music to Limpopo youth.
Back then, he was arguably the greatest master of ceremonies around Malamulele ( Limpopo) areas, something that made him known and respected. He is a humble guy and loves peace!
He also volunteered his services as a Tsonga News reader and presenter at Ngomalungundu FM, based in Venda.
Mr. Lee is also the founder of Mashamba Media, with the aim of creating jobs for South African youth. He is a co-founder of Giyani View newspaper. Mr Lee is a senior Editor for Greater Alex Today newspaper.
