Pastor Howard Hans, the founder of Speaking Faith Ministry NPO, has done what he is known for again! If he is not preaching the Word of God, he makes sure that the destitute or the needy are fed, clothed, and taken care of.
Situated in Wynberg, 685 London Road, next to Masakhane clinic, the church provides food parcels to elders, youth, or single parents on a monthly basis.
Hans says that God called him to help reduce the level of poverty in Alexandra and uplift its people.
“I am creating a mental health awareness through support and encouragement and also helping the needy through food parcels and donated clothes by good Samaritans.
“I have been doing this job through my own personal funds,” said Hans.
The church has three areas to help the youth: Empower youth through vocational skills, youth conferences; teach a boy child about gender-based violence and responsibilities of life, redirecting their path; and teach a girl child the importance of a strong woman.
The church also has various programs that help the youth of Alexandra.
“We help with placement of learnerships and internships. We create employment for the unemployed,” he said.
The church offers training in vocational fields such as cooking, ecotourism, horticulture, turf management, social media advertising, emergency assistance for suicide victims, Christianity teachings, and spiritual healing.
