An elderly man was killed and two others seriously wounded last night (12 September 2021) when a taxi crashed into a light motor vehicle on Mnandi Drive in Diepsloot.
ER24 and other services arrived at 20h20 to find local security members already in attendance.
According to Arrive Alive, a taxi and car
were in the middle of the road.
On closer inspection, medics found that an elderly man, seated in the rear of the car, had already succumbed to his injuries.
A woman was found lying in the passenger seat while a man was trapped in the driver’s seat, both in critical condition.
Rescue medics had to use specialised equipment to free the man from the car. Medics treated the injured and provided them with advanced life support interventions before being transported to Helen Joseph Provincial Hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
