The young woman, 21 years old, from Alexandra, cannot walk freely in the street.
Her man, originally from Limpopo, whom she had dated for three years, was released on R500 bail after he was arrested for hitting her.
The guy who owns a taxi, allegedly has two guns. He once shot at her sister and missed her during an argument.
Ntokozo Mbatha told Alex Reporter that there was no abuse until early February 2021 when he slapped her two times.
The recent incident of October 08, 2021, was massively shared on social media, showing her bruised face.
“He punched me in the face.
“I think it’s because he doesn’t like it when I’m independent or when he thinks I’m going to break up with him. He says I am disrespectful.”
They have lived together for three years and have 2 children aged 4 and 19 months.
When Ntokozo opened a case against him, the police told her to resolve the problem with him.
“I felt hurt, ignored and failed by the justice system, because I couldn’t understand why.
“I don’t feel safe and I can’t even walk around freely anymore,” she said.
But the support she receives is overwhelming.
“I appreciate all the support I have received from the media and from Alexandra Police Station Commander. My family, the NAC Women’s League and all those who have been there.
“I don’t think I would have gone that far if it wasn’t for your support… thank you. Please continue to fight with me against this man.”
